Hair words
Make a picture list of hair words: braids, afro, bantu knots, locs, curls, waves, plaits. Which ones has your family worn?
Ask-first game
Take turns asking “Can I…?” before a high five or a hug. Practise “Yes, please”, “No, thank you”, and saying “Okay!” when someone says no.
Brave words for age 5
“Stop! That’s not kind. My skin is brilliant! I’m telling a grown-up.”
If the first grown-up doesn’t help, tell another one.
