Coming soonEpisode 5: Where I Come From
Esiri grows a story tree full of family, food, music and heroes. He’s British and Nigerian, and both are part of him.
What happens
- “Let’s grow my story tree!”
- Each branch grows something: my family, my food, my music, my heroes.
- The tree has roots in Nigeria and in Britain. “I’m British and Nigerian. Both are part of me!”
- His friends add leaves for their own families’ stories.
- Everyone has a story worth sharing.
Talk about it
- Where does your family come from?
- Is there a special food, song or story in your family?
- Who is a hero in your family, and why?

Bring something from home that tells part of your family’s story, like a photo, a recipe or a song.
Brave words for ages 6–7
“Stop! That’s not true, and it’s not kind. Everyone has melanin.”
Then tell a grown-up, and keep telling until someone listens.
